I killed two nintendo 64`s yesterday, I was attempting to overclock them.. the first one was dead from the beginning ( I forgot to clean the soldiering iron ) the second went great, I was almost finished, when the pin on the processor broke off... I attempted to fix that, thought I had it. So I went and plugged the sucker in, and I see pretty colors and a broken n64.... Now I have to buy a replacement for my bro .
"In practice however, nothing happens at 2.0 - at least, nothing that we could see. And at 3.0x the machine refused to boot - every game just locked at a brown screen soon after powerup." So what for?
exactly what it said I suppose...if your board... I guess its like souping up a Kia...its just disposable anyway so it doesn't make much sense, unless you have the money to toss out the window (which if thats the case, I'll give you my paypal email address), and your reallly really board. (in which case, I'm sure your brother PC could use some Modding...hehe.
You can have my address too, if that's the case . . . *Sets up a paypal account* *5 Minutes Later:* Oh, right. He was kidding . . . LMAO
i killed one trying to portabilize it. i'm on my second now. being so careful about static. i've got a cookie sheet that is connected to earth ground (comp PS converted to a benchtop power supply), anti static bracelet connected to that, i don't wear socks, i touch every tool to the cookie sheet every two or three minutes. i clean my soldering iron constantly, i even ground my solder!!!!
I find jeans and a T-shirt works well enough (concrete floor workshops are nice.) sweat anything = no (sweaters, sweatpants, etc.)
