Networks 2 modems

    can i use 2 PCI 56k V.90 modems in my computer to conect to the internet?

    Yes you can, but naturally you need 2 phone lines.

    I'm not if you can just dial up any two numbers with dial up networking though, you have to use multilink, and I think that it *might* have to be an ISP supported feature too....not sure about that...might have to assign 1 ip address over both interfaces....

    yes the ISP has to support it and as far as i know, hardly any IF any do support it.

    but as phil said you need two fone lines

    what you can do though is have two interfaces to access the net, eg cable modem + modem, adsl + modem, or uni net connection + modem.

    Then tweak various settings as to what trafic uses what interface - what windows can't do is do this seemlessly and automatically.

    Don't forget that 2 Phone lines also means 2 bills!:eek:

    cheaper just to get broadband, if its available in your area :)
