i want to put two motherboards on one case . i think about to build a new case and design it or take old case and mod it . any suggestion ?
Double the amount of components ie. anything that normally only exist in one copy need to be doubled. And you can easily do that.. Unless you're planning a render farm sharing a psu isnt recommended. Just remember that it will get hotter in that case and you need ample cooling..
There are cases around, namely MountainMods' cases, that can support two motherboards without any modification.
I think it means that usually the cases are held in stock so they dispatch when you order as opposed to some companies who receive your order, then order from their suppliers before shipping to you. So basically, no they have none in stock. (as I read it) Cool idea though!
Hi all, Yes it means we buy the cases in and hold them in stock instead of ordering them on request - these have been very very popular so they have sold out. Also if you have a request we can get the cases in the UK in 4-5 Working days
i will build it from perspecs . the case will be a cube . when i sketch it i will show you the pictures .
i know some one that built a case with 2 mobos in it . it was like the ultimate lan case , one pc for leeching and the other for gameing its pretty much just 2 atx case welded together , one case was reversed abit and a lcd stuck on the front + there was abit of plastic work to cover the welds ect
My old record was one eATX and a mATX with a stripped down router somewhere in the mix. I put passive heatsinks on everything and then mounted the mobos close together and made a wind tunnel to cool it down. If I scratch built the case instead of modding it, it could have been half the width of a regular case.
i've done something like that but i was wondering whats the best way to connect the two mb ? i wanted to just use teh interface of a single pc use them both like a single pc .... any one knows how ? somebody told me something about cluster ? would that work? after i'm finished i'll post some pic's
i had an old dell server case about 5 years ago that i shoved 2 full ATX motherboards, and a m-atx motherboard in, all the required hard disks, and 2 psu's (1 shared) i never got around to finishing it as a seti farm the easiest way would be to setup each with a windows install, and then use something like VNC to connect to each machine over a network.
