Electronics 2 Sets of 3 LED's In A Chaser Effect

    Basically I need 2 sets of 3 small Blue LED's in 2 columns That show a pattern like this:

    0 0 1 1 0 0 0 0
    1 1 0 0 1 1 0 0
    0 0 0 0 0 0 1 1

    I want to be able to change the rate with a variable resistor and if they faded a bit whe they went out it would be cool.

    Anybody know how to make it as I don't?

    Welcome to Bit forums, Masterngc! :thumb:

    The circuit you need is shown and explained here, for only 3 sets of leds you'll take the output#4 to the 4017 reset pin to re-start the sequence, and just use 1 pair of diode OR gates on outputs #1 and #3.

    For your 2 blue leds per stage, on a 12V supply they can be connected in series with a suitable resistor. For fadey effects you need to add a slow-on & -off transistor switch, gets more complex.

    Thanks, I will post away.

    So if anyone can get me a schematic of the complete circuit with an slow on/off switch that i can connect Those LED's to, that would be great.... because when i try to do the making the circuit on paper thing, my circuit ends up in flames! lol
