Take a look at these: http://www.trossenrobotics.com/linear-actuators.aspx they're not cheap but top notch quality. Maybe you can lure them with a sponsorship...

Hey, I know them! I got a couple of capacitive touch sensors for the Ize's Atlantis lamp I have built. Good shop and fast service !

The thing with actuators is that I have always understood they are difficult to control in the speed they push out. Its either in or out, not like a stepper motors where you can adjust the speed by delaying the next step for milliseconds in arduino.

If you know otherwise, let me know as I could use them big time for another project also!

Nice interior design mate. Don´t know about that engraved picture though, it´s seemes a bit out of place IMO. But maybe its just the draft. The black and white next to that clean black & red looks misplaced. I guess It´ll look great with the red light later on!! I´m very excited about that HAL-gpu thingy :rock:

    Thanks man !
Yeah the black and white cant be lasered into the res. so it will be getting the red shine from the uv coolant. So it will fit better into the design.
The HAL plexi construction will also be used to stabilise the GPU's.

    Hi All,

First of all a big thanks to Bit-Tech for the Nomination for Mod-Of-The-Month.
Vote here for your favorites !

So I got the order from my favorite watercooling webshop Highflow in!

We got the AMD 1100T processor, the dominator RAM, some fesser UV red coolant, some UV red plexi, some UV red tubing some UV leds for testing, Another enermax 140 Apolish fan and the Laing DC655 pump.

So I started making the cardboard template for the red UV plexi after I made the plexiglas frame for the HAL9000 interface. More on that will follow later in a seperate post.

I will use scrap pieces of aluminum to support the plexiglass.

Full cover plate will be made of 2 pieces of plexi. I cant place the plexi over the hardware if it was made of 1 piece. Will use the vinyl sticker to cover the connection point.

Placed the RAM and the CPU to see if the design still is ok
    [IMG]

    With the lighting.

So I have concluded the poll for the text on the vinyl sticker.

    Sequence Initialiser it is.
Thanks to you all for voting !
There were some other nice ones that might find their way into the build at other points!

    Thanks for watching !

    Thanks man !
I wish it had been bigger. Wasted 3 good shets of alu in getting the innerframe right down to the mm. Didnt work well. Have to place a couple of 15mm alu rods behind it and the slots have to correspond perfectly or the plexi modules will be sticking out at an angle.
A modder who's skills i really respect told me once, you have to be good at manual before you go automatic. I think that's great advise and I have tried building as much manual as possible, but this just was costing me to much material, lol.
So i will be getting the frame and rods lasered in a couple of day ...

    Yey!

btw I got that same cooling fluid! its collor is so nice :D I got to ask though, could you maybe shine some UV light on it? (without tubing) I never seen it glow :(
