I said the same thing to a mate yesterday. If there is zero improvement in the next year to 18 months then I can see them jacking it in at the end of 2015 or 2016 just before the regs change again in 2017. Then they can concentrate on WSBK, where, coincidentally, they've also been sucking
I reckon theres light at the end of the tunnel for Ducati in WSB next year. Theyve got the panigale through its first year of development and their rider lineup for next season is pretty decent! (Chaz davies and guigilano) Just depends if they can make some big steps in testing and if the riders continue its development. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Well of course, because, being Italians, they decided that the entire world was wrong and that the Desmosedici's stressed engine block was truly the one way to make a motorbike. So naturally if they made the Panigale that way they couldn't possibly lose. Somewhere in Germany there is a guy who drinks half a bottle of schnapps every time he puts down the phone to 'Italy'.
Typical 2 second ducati gap. Stick to the 2014 thread for 2014 stuff though, please This one will close shortly!
The Panigale was doing pretty good in Superstock, and as the rules for WSBK drift closer to Superstock the Panigale will have good fortune. Don't forget Checa also put the thing on pole back at Phillip Island before that nasty crash. I think he was toast after that, and Badovini was never going to set the world on fire on the bike. The stressed engine design was also used on the Britten V-1000 and that bike is a legend, tragic that the project was killed by Britten's wife after his death. But it also didn't feature convential telescopic forks on the front either.
