Ace results, but what's going on with the works Yamahas? Rossi and Lorenzo shouldn't be falling back like that on a wet track.

If that turns out to be true then Stoner is an idiot, Suzuki's management are infamous for being complete arse holes. Or as MCN described it, Suzuki in Grand Prixs, the thirty year train wreck
    .

Dovi and Hayden I think have more wins in them yet, they just need to fix that bike (and probably bin the engine for a 60-something degree V like Honda and Aprilia use). Hayden was the first to beat Rossi to a championship, he did it fair and square too, no injuries or mental Ducatis getting in Rossi's way.

Don't tell anyone, but Honda have been using a 90 degree V since about mid-way through last season :cooldude: Suzuki are returning with an inline 4, big-bang style like the Yam.

Now that's something that I missed!

I still think it would be worthwhile for Ducati to use a narrower V angle because their engine is so much larger and heavier than Honda's. Since they can't make the head any smaller without losing desmo and going to pneumatics V angle is all they have, power isn't such a huge issue now as fuel limits it even with trick fuel flow profiles.

It's not as bad as when they were using the L layout and the front tyre was reportedly hitting the radiator under braking, but the motor is still too far back and too high up in the frame compared to the other guys.

Yeah. It was confirmed just before this season began and raised loads of eyebrows. Suzuki are back with an IL4 for cost saving more than anything.

When the Duc is fixed - however they manage it - I can't wait to find out how they did it and what the problem really was. There's been what, 3 years of speculation now? Pretty much everything but the engine has changed (ok they rotated it a bit) so I'm with you on that front, it probably is that... the fact that Honda are making a 90 degree engine work is beside the point, IMO; different beasts altogether.

I'm no Dovi fan but it was kinda fun to see a red thing leading the race for a bit, even if it was a bit artificial!

Ahhh Mugello this weekend, I feel another Honda win on the cards, and hopefully a satellite Yamaha in front of both factory bikes.... go Cal

Well the big news today is Suzuki returning to moto GP in 2015, a bit of a wait but its good to see the returning.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/motogp/22938342

Catalunya produced a interesting finish, keeps the top 3 close though Marquez could do with a win to reduce the gap between him Pedrosa and Lorenzo.

A good finish for Smith in 6th but with other riders coming off many placed better then they normally would.

Suzuki won't amount to anything, they signed up for two bikes in 2011 and had an entry for 2012, plenty of time for them to balls it up yet. I fear for any rider that signs with them in the hope of a factory deal, they're notorious for using their racing programs as a weird internal punishment.

Gutted for Cal this weekend, but really impressed with Pedrosa. The last couple races he has seemed much stronger mentally than in previous years. No suicide dives or panic moves to keep positions (like against Simoncelli a couple years back), this bodes well for his titleshot.

Yeah, similarly gutted for Cal! Nice to see Smith (there, I said it!) in 6th even if it was a bit artificial :)

Silverstone great track but not so good for spectating, I'd love to see WSB back at Brands and can't help but wonder what MotoGP would look like there, of course they'd have to do the full circuit though :hehe:

^ I dunno, at becketts you can see quite a lot - all the way through maggots, chapel and down the hangar straight, and you can see most of the in-field from farm to when they shoot down the wellington straight.

    edit: speelong/grammers

Silverstone for me just has a funny atmosphere, I dunno if its because its really set up for F1. It just hasn't got the same friendly feel that Brands has. I am biased though I love brands alway have

Did anyone else catch the (WSB) 600 Super Sport race from Monza?, Sam Lowes rode the wheels off his Yamaha to take an epic win.
