Ew is all I have to say, never been a big ASRock fan....at all.

 

Congrats. Can't say as I have a good or bad thing to say about them.

 

Even if they move to 1st never again AsRock. Bought 2 and neither was/is fault free, even for non-critical applications, no games etc, minimum hardware... more like access terminals with nearly nothing installed. Cheap and not good enough. Seriously unstable.

Focus on legacy support solutions not on performance oriented products.

I think they are stupid to pay for the fatal1ty name however. It was pointless 6 years ago and it's even less relevant now. Big waste of cash that won't make their products any better, nor appealing

 

a local retailer, whom i do some work for, has been using asrock boards for cheap quick repair jobs, and so far has had very few, if any problems with them.

they wouldn't use them in a custom build, but for cheap repairs they are fine.

 

i've never seen one of these boards working properly.

wouldn't ever!!!! well unless they where the last MOBO manufacturer in the world and i wanted to play Zork with out it falling over on itself.

the p67 looks like nice board but I have never owned/bought/worked on an asrock board in over 10 years of pc building but said that ive only had one MSI SERVER board either

 

Drop Wendel and I'll buy it.

 

Maybe with all their earnings thay can concentrate on making quality boards that function as they should with no shortcuts.

I'm with Bazz! I'm Sooo tired of Fatal1ty / Wendel branded stuff. Personally, I have had no issues with ASRock MB's that I have purchased starting with the P4i65G. Yes, they do have some odd and inexpensive stuff, like dual AGP/PCIe motherboards. But they have come a long way since then, good for them.

 

I had the Alive dual version, AGP worked great but PCIe performance was lacking, Jerky in some cases, swapping to a Nforce 590SLI sorted the problem out. Had the same issue with a recent Asrock P55 board, swapped for a MSI and problem solved.

Great ideas and Innovations but the implemetation isn't always perfect, good luck to them though.

 

I had the Dual Sata II for a while, ran an AGP 9700 pro , which lasted well into the DX9 era, then swapped it out for an X800 and various other pcie cards before upgrading the whole system after a few years.

 

@frontline Yes, but the PCIe slot was only 4x so that can be expected.

 

I still have my old motherboard, socket 939 processor, 9700 pro and some RAM - i might put it all back together some time to see how it copes these days!

I'm very surprised by this news. Thought MSI or someone else would be higher. They must be hitting a pretty big demographic. Personally not a fan.

 

I've only had one asrock board, the dual VSTA. Worked fine, no complaints. Not a great performer but it served it's purpose well and only dropped about a tenner at ebay resale. not much more to be asked from a budget board.
