    Led Zeppelin - Kashmir
    Yes - Roundabout
Kansas - Carry On My Wayward Son
Steve Miller band - Fly Like An Eagle
The Animals - House of the Rising Sun

The next 20 at least would all be classic rock hits as well. There's plenty of newer music that I like but none of them have the kind of impact required to be an all time favorite, I can't feel the emotion behind them, they just sound nice.

Echoes = Fantastic song! You should listen to the california guitar trio version. As a matter of fact, looks like you should try them. They make some fantastic covers. Moonlight Sonata (Beethoven), Toccata and Fugue (Bach), Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen) lots of Pink Floyd covers...

    As Kayne Wayne would say:
"...Pink Floyd is the most popular band of all time. OF ALL TIME!"

Nice to see Dire Straits getting so much love on here. The only music I had to listen to as a kid on my whooouwge walkman was Dire Straits, and it's remained my favourite band ever since. Always interests me what people don't like about Dire Straits music - @ Carrie, care to elaborate?

This can't really be taken as my top-5 for life, but they'd certainly be in my list of tracks to listen to one last time before I snuff it:

    Dire Straits - Telegraph Road
    Michael Jackson - Smooth Criminal
    Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb
Monty Python - Always Look on the Bright Side of Life
John Williams & the London Symphony Orchestra - The Raiders March

    Honourable mentions:
    Razorlight - Somewhere Else
Boyz II Men - End of the Road
    Orbital - One Perfect Sunrise
    Rolf Harris - Waltzing Matilda
    Cast - Walkaway
    Europe - Rock the Night
Barry White - Let the Music Play
    etc. etc. ad infinitum

My current copy of Echoes (of the Echoes CD) is scratched. :(

Not to worry, I'll just go find my other Echoes CD. :D

(I'm not kidding about this: at one point we had 4 copies of the Echoes CD set.

That all said I just listen to in on Meddle instead.

    Sisters of Mercy - Lucretia
Fields of the Nephilim - Preacher Man
    Ministry - Scarecrow
    Vanessa Mae - Storm
    Bruch - Violin Concerto

Honourable mentions have to go to Abney Park for My Isabella and Cruxshadows for Winter Born though.

I tend to have a slightly eclectic selection but I still love my classic goth and industrial as much as a well played violin.
