Windows 2142 Security update removal overblown?

Seeing as how MS has a hotfix for the security update, I think it's been blown out of proportion as this update apparently conflicts with a lot of different games.

 

To be honest any problem with EA, at the moment is reported, which I think rightly so. EA are market leaders and the constant, yet incomplete, patching of the games shouldn't happen with the resources available to them (and DICE). If all the bugs were fixed in production then there would be no need for patches and this would have never been reported, they make their own bad press.
