Can't wait until I have the spare cash to pick this up. Been an avid fan since BF2 (even though I am a terrible, terrible FPS player). Bring on payday!

Single Player was only tacked on to appease the console monkeys.....they simply cant handle the concept of multiplayer only titles.

Nice one, Harry. Looking forward to grabbing my copy this evening. :)
I bought BFBC2 on the strength of the bit-tech review of it and wasn't disappointed. I got hundreds of hours of play for my €40 (Gamestop pricing Cheesecake); but for some reason I just wasn't as hyped about BF3 as everyone else.

Until I played the beta, that is.

With regards to the SP campaign, this is pretty much what I expected. I'll probably play it through once over the course of a week via my work bus-journeys if I can get it to work offline; but I'm expecting it to be about as forgettable as the average Bay film.

    Since when?
I think it's safe to assume that the millions of people still playing CoD on their consoles aren't doing so for the singleplayer campaign.
It used to be the case that multiplayer shooters were only truly popular on PC; but that just isn't true any more whether we like it or not.

Funny, I played the beta and was disappointed. I know it was just a beta and most likely just to test servers and such but it seemed a bit weak - think it has something to do with getting bored of the FPS genre a bit more than the actualy game though.

I'll wait for the Steam sale and pick it up for £6 like I did with BC2.

The game is having its fair of launch issues but having played it for the last few days I don't care because it's simply brilliant!

I am stuck at the very beginning of the game. I can't remove the gun blocking the door. I **** you not. Checked keybindings, reloaded the level and same problem. Unbelievable.

Well, Off I go to multiplayer :)

    No graphics comparisons?
    No mention of audio?

Come on Bit-Gamer, I used to love your in depth reviews but these are just general overviews and observations the same as any other standard game review site.

Here's an example of what I mean http://www.bit-tech.net/gaming/pc/2007/11/16/crysis/1
The original Crysis review ran for 10 pages. 10 !!! And all of them were full of useful information. I compare this review to Crysis due to the similarity in the new graphics engines/tech in both that game and BF3. Frostbyte 2 deserves some serious attention from yourselves and I for one would be massively interested to see what tests you ran on it etc.

No info AT ALL about how it runs on different systems for those of us that haven't tried the beta?

We'll soon get reports like the black weather man on Family Guy:-

    Newsreader "What's BF3 like?"

    Weatherman "It's GOOD!"

    Newsreader "Well thanks for that"

Exactly. Also - what were your system specs for the review machine?

We'll hopefully be doing a look at the requirements and detail levels soon; we wanted to actually get a review up on launch day! It's certainly demanding on ultra, but scales right the way down remarkably well.

Agree with mongpong, the 2 page review doesn't provide nearly enough information. I know you haven't had much time to review it but if you can comment how it will handle using minimum spec PCs as not everyone has the luxury of playing on tricked out SLI/CF rigs.

If you check in the Feedback forum, you'll see that we now do those technical articles separately, to avoid clutter and ensure we get relevant coverage out ASAP.
