never mind episode 16, I need episode 17... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.... 16 was best epp so far, though
gahhh... my wife and I record it then watch it with some friends every other week, so every two weeks we get TWO eps back to back! It rocks doing it that way. This season has been really great so far!!! We can't wait to see eps 16! But here's the kicker, I forgot to set my clock ahead on my VCR for 'daylight savings' so when I set it to record last night I set it for the wrong time, so it was half way through when I noticed it wasn't recording, but I did go ahead record the second half.... Luckily a lady I work with recorded it too, so we are saved -Fiz
I don't really like this season of 24. The writing has been relatively poor, and many new characters and events are just ridiculous. Spoilers ahead... Spoiler I HATE how every new character, and a few old ones, have so much drama in their lives. Example: The head of CTU has a mentally un-stable daughter who just happens to freak out on the day of a huge terrorist attack. She is then brought to CTU ( ), and because her mother is too busy with the days events, she kills herself! OOOoooooh the drama! Or what about Captain chubby who's mother is in the fallout zone. Her voluntary death conviently leads him on a series of carefully scripted screw ups due to his mental anguish. And another... This last episode, Audrey's husband, with whom she is seperated (because she is having an affair with Jack), gets out of surgery. I was telling myself, "if they say he is paralyzed I will scream". HE'S PARALYZED! Now either I'm a psychic or this is just poor writing. Why can't the writers focus on the terrorist attacks, and going after them!?! Frankly, there is no reason a TV show about counter terrorism should ever have to rely on storylines circling psycho daughters, old courageous mothers, and para-palegic currently seperated but falling back in love with for a second-there thought he was a terrorist too, husbands. This just the problems with the characters. The thing that set me off though was the stealth bomber in the last episode... The writers may have thought "hey we'll make him shoot down AF1 with a stealth jet 'cause it will be invisible on radar", but it made me cringe. I think they failed to realize that it is a Stealth BOMBER, not a fighter. It carries no air-to-air ordinance, and the ordinance it does carry is held inside the body of the plane. Second, even it it did carry air-to-air weapons, it would not have to get suspensefully within 5 miles to lock on. Modern air combat is typically fought over distances of 50 miles. Quite often your target is not even visible it is so far away. And finally, even if magically the first two problems went away, AF1 has many defensive capabilities. They aren't 100% effective, but they weren't used at all! Flares, chaff, um the 6 fighter battlegroup accompanying it... Nothing was done other than having the fighters huddle around AF1. At the very least a few of the fighter would have broken off to make a wider visual perimeter. Bah! I wish the writing was more like season 2 or even 3. I wonder if that was the biggest block of black ever?
The important thing to remember is for that hour you are suspending and stretching reality, its entertainment. And I'm loving it
Absolutely, episode 18 is eleeb, so much suspense. MaximumShow, Spoiler if they'd have fought from 50 miles, they would have known the missile was coming and would have been able to react to it. At five miles, they remain invisible and there is very little time for them to react and shoot the missile down once it has been launched. Also, they didn't HIT AF1, they hit one of its protection fighters - it was the debris that hit AF1, much like in the film, Air Force One.
time for this thread to be bought back to the top Spoilers ahoy Spoiler Oh my god, that episode rocked ass! Palmer is back (palmer for president re-elect ), the new pres is stepping down to let him tackle the problem, chloe unleashed an m4a1 at some dudes, and nailed that sucker though tbh, this Marwan keeps escaping thing is starting to get a bit old! Surely he can't evade jack much longer ?!
Spoiler Considering that there arent that many episodes LEFT, I doubt Marwan will continue to get away for much longer; theyre getting closer and closer each time. You have to admit though, his escape movements are pretty gripping. But now, even if they GET Marwan, theres the Nuke to be dealt with; he will be gone within two episodes I'm sure. And on a side note, F117s ARE quite capable of shooting air to air ordinance.
Spoiler AHAHAHA I thought Chloe would bring out some shitty little handgun like Jack always does (Jack, his handgun and his t-shirt - he dont need no stinkin' helmet, big bullet proof vest with ceramic plate and an SMG foo'!), but no its a ****ing Colt Rifle!! Roffles!! GO CHLOE! Bet that's the best PMS stress relief she's had all day. In ep 20 i want to see her go on a violent killing rampage of hormones and swearing, i wont be satisfied until i do. "EDGAR! YOU GONNA ****ING BACK CHAT ME AGAIN? EH! FAT BOY?!?" She's 100x more fun to watch kicking arse than Jack
Just gets better Spoiler Oh my god what an episode, Cloe with the m4a1 and Palmers back. This just gets better and better. Spoiler Anyone else see the Alienware Laptop ?
Oh my god, the last episode was incredible! Spoiler Chloe with the M4A1 was too cool for words, did you see how clustered the shots were? She's either well trained, or has been kicking ass on Counter Strike. Let's face it, in the downtime between crises, they must be using all that computer and networking power to host some awesome LAN parties
omg Spoiler jack totally owned paul i hate how there all like up in his face, when he's doing whats good for the many. Paul may not have lived anyway! Chloes finally admitted shes a psycho, thats good! Palmer totally owned the chinese That episode was super rocking!!!
Spoiler LOL @ Palmer giving the Chineese the middle finger Our house had a nice argument about plausable denyability and owning up to shooting your own diplomat etc Needless to say, our female housemate was wrong although in typical female fashion she doesnt believe she is. That was also possibly THE WORST covert ops ive EVER seen. Where's Sam Fisher when you need him?? I still say Jack should move over for Chloe as head of field ops.
Spoiler yep, i can see her need for death and destruction will wiegh heavily on her until she takes thast inevitable step into field ops Why was it the worst covert ops ? Just because he went in, shot everybody up some, punched a dude in the face, then ran out wielding a chinaman ina rain of bullets, does'nt mean it was bad Tbh though, the chinese shooting all ooert shop was crazy! Esp. with one of theirs over jacks shoulder, essentially protecting jack!
It was crap cause the splinter cell games tell me it was crap. If he's gonna go in stealth he should at least bounced around like Sam Fisher with some dark humour.
pff, silly humans have 3 eyes i know bauer is great (certainly moreso than shatner!!!!!!!!!!!!1111oneone12onetwo) but he does still only have 2 eyes edit: omg 3 eyes would be crazy! we would be able to see exactly the same as we can now... (assuming a forehead placement!) - but we would have three eyes! Crazy stuff, eh ?!
that episode was seriously rocking even more so than the week before. I just burst out laughing when Chloe made her admission
