Well then folks, what do we reckon? I'd totally forgotten about this until I flicked past the last half hour on Sky. Presently downloading ep1-4. Thoughts? I thought redemption was classic 24 action, so if it's even close to that, I'm happy.
24 is, honestly, one of the most entertaining programmes I've ever watched. It's not always believable, but it's always good fun.
I'm sitting here watching ep 4 of season 7 now. My cousin came back to school last fall semester psyched about 24. We'd never seen it so we all watched the first six seasons. I'm loving it so far, but I'll say that Redemption was pretty iffy. It was good for a story filler but it didn't have enough badassery that I've come to expect from Jack. Agreed. I love seeing someone get the job done, but I gnaw my tongue off whenever they start messing with a computer.
Oh emm eff gee. What a start to a season. Who guessed that Spoiler Tony was a good guy and bad guy? Classic!
I've only watched the first two episodes so far, but it's looking good. It's great to have you back on TV, Jack!
I was into 24 for a little while, but I found it to be frustrating to watch after a little while. The show is based entirely on Deus Ex Machina in reverse. Right when everything is going well, there comes a new character or a plot twist, so that things can fall apart for another 6 hours or whatever amount of time is left. Also, I dislike how the show purposely gives you the wrong evidence in a situation like "who's the mole" then surprises you when it's not that person at all. Twists are only clever if you can look back and say, "there was evidence for that the whole way through and I missed it". Overall, I think it's one of the better television shows, but I don't really watch television for the reasons that I don't like this show. Movies tend to have a conclusion because they don't necessarily need you to come back in a week, TV leaves very little satisfaction for me, so I tend to stick to comedies on TV and serious films. The Office on tv and Saving Private Ryan on my projector.
I read they're going for a different angle with this season, I mean they admit they've already killed a president and nuked the USA - I think this time it's going to be more centred around our man Jack. You can say I'm wrong when the first nuke goes off, however
