Are you kidding? The central conceit is that a SINGLE BOX controls America and they just duplicated it. Also: Torture doesn't work
Spoiler Bill go boom boom, but I think Jacks response to that made it very clear that he actually wanted it to be him, not out of a sense of duty or anything, he just wants to die.
It's an awesome show, but i feel like ranting, so here are my gripes with it: They could do with some more modesty. Somehow Jack always ends up saying "I did what i deemed nessicary", and nobody asks him why he should be allowed to be judge, jury and executioner. Why everyone always takes sh*t from Jack is beyond me. Example: no Senator is going to sit there at a televised hearing and let himself be berated by the person he's interrogating! Another thing they should do is send Kiefer on some SWAT training or something. The amount of blind spots he leaves uncovered while walking through a building full of hostiles is just idiotic, and makes his default-win over all the goons he encounters totally unbelievable. And as said by others, they take a lot of liberties on the technology front. Why would you hear static when a security camera goes out? Spoiler Who can program triggering mechanisms for a device he's never seen and has never had access to, and in just a few minutes? (Morris, season 6) Why do all programs have the same graphical interface, and why do they even have one at all? Why does every program produce bleeps? Bleep, Bleep, your files are deleted. Bleep, Bleep the tracker is active. Bleep, Bleep, the sattelite is connecting. For that matter, with all those bleeps, the place should sound like McDonalds on a busy saturdaynight, but somehow all those bleeps only activate if you point a camera at them. I could go on... But i wont, because there's other stuff to rant at! How about all the moral inconsistencies? The 25th amendment being invoked again and again? Jack being arrested a zilion times, but never standing trial for any of it? The ceaseless changing of CTU leadership? Oh, and i wish everybody would stop saying "I know <enter problem of choice>, but right now..." It's getting old. *sigh* Still, it's great entertainment. I've seen 4 episodes of season 7 now, i hope they will fix some of the above.
dude. it's a tv show. chill? i enjoy it BECAUSE of the over the top nature of it all. if the show became realistic it would lose what makes it great. sure the computers are represented in a hilariously unrealistic way. but you know what? i don't care. the jargon they come out with in season 7 is actually hilarious sometimes. i just like to think it as a sly wink to people who know what they are actually talking about, rather than unintentional retardation, because really, some of the stuff they say? comedy gold.
Like i said, i felt like ranting Anyway, if i didn't enjoy it i wouldn't have watched it all the way to season 7, so no worries. Agreed on the comedy btw, we should make a spoof. Jack: Do you copy? Chloe: *puts a new DVD in the tray* working on it Jack!
Watched Episode 13 last night.... Spoiler omg, I can't believe they tried to frame Jack! But WTF at nerve gas that only lasts for two or three minutes?! Aside from that, awesome episode after the lameness that was Episode 12
24 is pure class. after ep 12 last week, i had to jump into world at war to get more Jack Bauer action. ep13 downloaded, no time to watch last night but will be on it. my opinion is that Season 7 is so far back up to normal standards, making up where Season 6 let us down.
Finally caught up, I completely didn't notice that I was one episode behind everybody else! Awesome stuff as always, although it is ridiculous how many people are involved and how nothing ever goes to plan for the good guys. I guess that's why its 24 though..
