I just noticed earlier that my 2405 has a dead pixel over towards the lower right area, but not in the corner at all. I purchased the monitor off of ebay from a guy who seems to sell them quite often in large numbers. Probably around 40 or 50 a month? Before I start asking more questions, I heard Dell is pretty good about their warranty, but I've yet to read anything from Dell that actually gives detailed information on their warranty policy. Since I've bought the monitor from eBay, I am assuming I'll have to get the warranty switched from the seller over to me. but would Dell replace it over just one dead pixel? It's pretty damn distracting, and by pretty damn distracting, I mean it's driving me ****ing insane. If they were to replace it, would I be getting a used monitor? Who would I call as well? I tried calling tech support, but I got people who were painfully unhelpful and would give me a number to call despite that being the number I just called. Time for a cigarette Edit: I've also had the monitor since mid April, so longer than 21 days.
I doubt it, but you could try. I've just ordered a 32" lcd tv and this is worrying me, I had a 17" LG lcd monitor that had about 5 dead pixels and ebuyer didn't want to take it back luckily it had another fault.
dell won't want anything to do with it and one measley dead pixel. *edit* trying rubbing it with a soft cloth, it might remove it.. the other thing is that program which flashes RGB colours then white... run it for 24 hours and it might go
A quick search on the dell website reveals that dell require more than 5 dead pixels to consider replacing the item.
Yes this has woked on my work pc which had 2 stuck on pixels, they have come back a few times but the same trick got rid of it.
my 2405 has one lazy pixel. it changes colour when on any background bar black. on black it stays green, iv had the screen for well over a year and tbh if forgoteen about it on a screen of this size its not noticible.
I occasionally get a blue sub-pixel stuck on right in the centre of my screen. Rubbing the screen about 2" above the pixel makes it work fine again. It comes back once in a while, but it's easy to get rid of, as fev said. ch424
Yeah this pixel appeared in the picture to be a slight blue colour, while my actual vision kind of reveals a red tint, but it's not a lit pixel. On black, you'd never see it, but on white it is revealed. I tried rubbing, but it didn't seem to do anything. Shall I rub just on the affected area, or around it? Should I also cycle the power on the screen while doing it? and apologies to SteveyG. It was a long night, I was very stressed about many things, so my search skills went to **** in general. I'll try rubbing the screen around the area again.
work around the area.. kind of pushing towards the "stuck" pixel also use that program dead pixel buddy which i mentioned before, but forgot the name of is available here: http://www.laptopshowcase.co.uk/downloads.php?id=1
