Guys, i have got a new rig. 2500k and an Asus P67 Pro.

Having a few issues with overclocking and ive got to the point where its now pissing me off.

Im not a complete noob at overclocking , i come from a i5 750 that i run 24/7 at 3.83 but the new EFI is a little differant and seems to be causing me some issues.

Yes, i have read the Bit-tech OC guide but still im finding aggrivation doing so. I had a little tinker last week and had it sitting at 4.7 but for what ever reason it bluescreened and i could nt get it stable so i reset and gave up. Now i need to get it stable as i got some video work to do soon and want the benefits of what i have just shelled out for.

Even as we speak ive tried to go back and re-trace my steps with it but the CPU multi will not stay at anything above 33! Just keeps pinging back to the 33 multi even after i changed it.
Obviously ive missed somthing or im doing somthing that i shouldnt so if anyone could give me some clear instructions and some of their settings to use as a guideline i would very much appriciate it.

Before i say anything else NO i have not updated the BIOS, this is where i am a complete Rtard and bios's are just bloody annying so some good advice on that would be much appriciated also.

    Current system.

    CPU - 2500k OEM

    MB - Asus P67 pro

    RAM- Coasir Vengance 2 x 4g kit C8

    COOLER- H50 push/pull

    CARD- ATI 5850

    HD - 120g Vertex 2E/ Spinpoint F3

    PSU - Coarsair HX850

Fsirst thing is to update your bios.
    Here it is.
    http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx
It's just as simple as downloading it and dragging it on to a Flash drive.
No boot files or anything required.

Go into utilities I think it is and look for Asus Flash.
It will allow you to point to where the Bios file is.
just hit enter and wait untill it's done and that's it really.
Just make sure to unzip it before you put it onto the memory stick.

Next thing is to run this.

I am just presuming you are running 64 bit BTW.

Under Stepping tell us what it is. Eg D1 or D2.
If you have a D2 processor it will overclock better. You will probably get 4.4ish with no change to stock to the voltage.

When you are overclocking leave all the voltages on Auto.
It will compensate for them it's self.

Come back when you have the above done and we can go from there.

Also this should be in Tech support, but hopefully a mod will move it.

Edit: BTW, all of this is done in the advanced menu
