I recently upgraded from 128mb of pc2100 to 256mb of pc2700. What i want to know is, would I be better of w/ 384mb of pc2100(let the 256mb stick slow back to 266 mhz) or 256mb of pc2700? I am on a p4 2.26B w/ radeon 9500 pro. Mainly I use this rig for gaming.

dont mix the sizes of the memory, like dont put a 128 paired with a 256, only pair with like pairs, otherwise performance drops, use sisoft sandra and see what your best config is, use the memory bandwidth test and try it with the 128, then try 256, and then lastly both together and see what kind of performance you get, i can almost garentee that you will get the best performance with just the 256

Yep, lcdman16 is right, and I just wanted to add that one stick is always better than two, even if they are the same. The performance difference isn't really that noticeable between one or two sticks, however, if you're into oc'ing, one stick will make a very big difference not only in your performance, but also in your stability and the max you'll be able to oc. HTH!!! :)
