    How much does this reduce boot times? It's probably not coming to my 6870 any time soon, but I'd like to know.

    Time from cold boot from a fresh install of windows 8 versus an optimal boot time from fresh install with the boxes ticked above (hardware).

    You are never going to make up the time its taken getting used to 8 ;)

    Windows 8 already boots quite fast, and POST is often skipped in laptops already. I wonder what the improvements are with this.

    At a guess (I don't know) but windows does a lot of checks on hardware and software on startup, so maybe it just skips the gpu entirely.
