I think you used the wrong image, you seem to have found one from the 1990's.

From experience I wouldn't buy another product based on a Clevo, My old alienware laptop was hardly ever with me due to being sent in for repairs all the time. The motherboard twice, Nvidia 7800GTX GPU, HDD all needed replaced. Finally the screen backlight stopped working and it was out of warranty so now just sits in the back of a wardrobe occasionally donating parts to my other projects.

Yep, I used to work for DB Schenker importing containers or part containers of goods for UK companies to sell......wonder if it's one and the same? Think the Laptop is Schenker Technologies.

Schenker in German means similar to: giver, contributor, donator

    Hmmm this or a Medion Eraser X7827* [cough] MSI GT70 without a £900 badge [/cough] for £1420.....

    *17.3" 1080p / 4700MQ / 780m / 16GB DDR3 / Blu Ray / 128GB SSD & 1TB HD etc

Yeah I will take the Eraser thanks.

Also considering this is first and foremost a gaming laptop couldn't it have been put through the normal GPU tests albeit at only 1080p? Dishonoured runs perfectly fine at high settings (900p) on my laptops 635m, not exactly a challenge for a mildly down clocked GTX680 (780m)

Holy crap that is 1 fat laptop. I haven't seen a new laptop that thick since Pentium 3 was still used (excluding Panasonic Toughbooks, those are a whole other animal).

Anyways, being an American, I've never had the opportunity to see another keyboard layout up close, so I found that particularly interesting. The only foreign keyboard layout I've ever seen in use was Vietnamese, and that was basically just with the characters drawn on a QWERTY. I also think it's interesting how this computer doesn't come with an OS. Considering it's a gaming computer, I think it's implied it ought to come with Windows, but I personally would like to see more American laptops that take this same approach. I would say "I'd rather pay $100 to not have the license", but all the bloatware that comes with laptops reduce the price by about $100 anyway, so in the end I'd rather keep the Windows license and sell it off to someone else using an OEM disc.

From a battery life perspective, I realize the laptop doesn't seem like there's as a big an increase in performance as we'd like to see from a Haswell chip, but keeping in mind that (under load) the 780m draws 22 watts (22 percent increase) more than the 675m ... what kind of countering impact does that have on the test for battery life increase? Just curious.

Any chance of a review of the Haswell ranges by:

    Scan
    Overclockers
    PCSpecialist
    MSI

    or others?

I'm looking for a gaming laptop that I can hook up to my 30" Dell, and run SQL server on when I'm travelling...

The majority of the MobileMark test doesn't use the GPU to any great extent. While this may seem like an oversight, it would be somewhat pointless to test battery life with the GPUs under load as it would be very short indeed.
