Up to 25% off their prices, nothing that good IMO.

True say. In other words they have put the Radeon prices back to pre price gouging mining prices and all of a sudden it's cheap....

Not sure whether to feel happy about that or just insulted.

This is the sort of "article" that makes me feel uncomfortable. It's basically advertising for OCUK in the guise of editorial, isn't it?

Well they've got to make money somehow, it's better than annoying ads that force people to run adblock on the whole site.

OCUK are my go to for most PC parts. I do shop around (used scan recently) but a big reason I use them is they deliver with DPD. Who give you a 3 hour window when to expect them and give you a phone call when they arrive.
Living in an apartment makes this invaluable. Yoddle, TNT and citylink can't deliver ****.

*Just my personal experience in Belfast. I'll have to wait for the next sale as I'm bleeding money, having recently bought myself a home.

Don't know about Belfast but Scan use DPD in the UK too, and give me free next day delivery. Keeps me coming back.

rule of thumb for retail is trade price = 0.666 x rrp, so 25% discount = 10% markup leftover.
    hardly 'newsworthy'!!!
anything thats more than 40% less rrp tends to be a bargain (assuming good product) so yes - i think a little more of an ad than a worthy article.
That being said i hope bit-tech got a proper $$$ reward and not just a free gfx card + cpu backhander.
I know you guys need the money.... but once you lose the integrity - you'll lose your visitors too.

+1 for scan - they are awesome. Always been reluctant to shop at OCUK because of their incredibly bad customer services which have been well publicised over the years.

As an act of respect to the forum users, how about BT tell us the terms of any deal with OCUK?

    Such as:

    • We were paid £X
    • They bought £X worth of advertising
    • We can't talk about it due to an agreed NDA
    • We're not going to comment

Aria use DPD now too apparently. They're a great courier service, really show the others how it's done.

I always do shop around, and given the prices OCUK has on some products, they are still to be found cheaper elsewhere still.

Let's face it most companies dealing in PC's and PC hardware need all the help they can get and you can find someone that's had problems with all these companies, when you deal with 1'000's of customers it's inevitable.
I don't use CCL anymore because I had an issue with them and I've had a few minor irritations with scan but still use them but don't expect a ray of sunshine if you talk to some of the scan staff on the phone, the guy I talked to sounded like he was on death row, jeez, sorry I spoke mate :D
