    I've gone 151 mph in a sanctioned drag race(only once) at a drag strip. The record for the Colorado Highway Patrol is a dude clocked at 173 mph on a motorcycle. They DID NOT chase him on the highway. This is ridiculous on a roadway.

    They have lovely roads, it's no surprise, with such ridiculously fast cars on tap it's easy to get to silly speeds on big, flat roads. :p

    If you've been across the equator going east in a plane you've been travelling at >1500mph... Subjectively of course. :)

    fastest ive driven is like 100mph and fastest ive been in a car is ~135mph.

    we have some extremely sucky roads here :(

    Record for a speeding ticket is 241mph set in Texas during the Gumball Rally in 2003 I think. (Koenigsegg CCR I believe).

    180 in a monaro vxr8 at Millbrook proving ground, i wasn’t driving though (which is probably a good thing!).

    fastest iv been is 140mph to tesco's at 2am, no traffic around and certainly no childern. plus its easier to see other cars as there lights stand out well in the dark. i tend to only speed at night. love my 14yr old car!

    I remember watching a video of a guy in the uk who stole a Aston (can't remember which one) and bombed it down the road so fast that first the police cars fell away and then the helicopter couldn't keep up, he disappeared over the horizon and then they caught him a couple of minutes later because he had pulled over and parked in a nearby farm lane. The idiot had actually gotten away with it if he had just kept going.
