No time for this, but I'll follow the contest. The original Phobya contest was the first one I attended and I keep great memories of it.

Thanks a lot, that's very appreciated :). Sadly I lack time and have no water cooled project to show. But I guess I can submit a design idea while not competing :thumb:

    Made my day :D.

Wished I made it to the last round, but I was no match compared to the top 5 entries

Way too busy to even contemplate entering this one sadly. A NUC is one thing but a proper WC case mod and build is a whole 'nother kettle of fish. The entry barrier is also pretty high, given you need completed WC builds and multiple GPUs. I also wouldn't want to downgrade (so to speak) my CPU/GPU blocks to Phobya/Alphacool ones, given you may have to loan out the system afterwards it doesn't sound like you'd really get to switch them back.

Still, it'll be really interesting to see what people manage with this case, it certainly needs a lot of work.

Yeah I agree the entry barrier is quite high.

Plus Alphacool does not have blocks for custom gfx cards. So you need reference cards as well.

I like this competition a lot. But it could have used a few more partners so all entries are on a same starting level and the mod itself will determine the outcome and the hardware will have 0 part in that.

Alphacool has the biggest range of custom and non-reference card compatibility with its gpx series so its actually more flexible there.

Mind you they're not full active blocks (being a universal block with a load of heatsink around it) and IMO are rather hideous.

I'm out too. I drank deeply of the sponsorship pool recently. I'm committed to finish the current log.

    Hmmm....

A bit of an ask for 2 cards,Does Alphacool want to try manufacturers for entrants? That would make it easier to swallow.

I have waaay to much going on for this, good luck.
