    Four (or more) bay Nas are just too expensive, A4 apu, A88x mainboard, ram, psu and case add up to just below 200 and that is all brand new parts...

    I think the HP Microserver Gen 8 is a better option. Currently £120 after the cash back offer and offers much higher performance and greater flexibility.

    ..and you can install Synology's fantastic operating system onto that HP Microserver too (I know, I've just done exactly that) All the mobile apps work with it too. Check http://www.xpenology.nl/
