I could see a cut down version of this chip being in the next generation consoles. Think of 8 cores (instead of the 16 listed above) and since the HBM is running at 512GB/s that indicates version 1.0. Imagine one with 32GB HBM 2.0 memory in place along with 8 cores. That would truely be a console to last more than 5 + years
The current consoles have yet to even be taken close to the limits. It will be 2019 - 2020 before we see the next generation playstation or xbox.
I maybe wrong on this so happy for someone to correct me but I don't think we will ever see this chip in anything but HPC, that's not to say we won't see other chips based on ZEN core and arctic island GPU, it's just to say the configuration mentioned in the article is meant for HPC use.
