    Horrible, foul, grim...

Coming from a Celeron 400 on a T1 line to this is definitely a low light of the Easter holidays! Mickleton would be another (Village 10 miles out of Stratford-Upon-Avon that public transport forgot)..

Yes I know how you feel. The thing is our site is very graphically orientated and we would not be able to achive what we are.

We have however taken into consideration dialup users and this is the main reason our images are 160*120. You can actually click on most of the images in the articles which open into higher res ones.

I think there is a trend increasingly towards broadband which most of our target audience are maybee i am wrong we will have to get a poll in to find this out.

In the mean time its easter so we want you all to keep modding.

    Koolvin.

Don't properly look at internet sites during the holidays, this thing is simply too slow, :) I wait till I get back, although I did see that green cold cathode article, which looked good!

Hmmm wonder what I can do to a 486... Not sure you can O/C them, but might have some plastic, a ships starboard light and a saw handy.

    Phew

Well finally my dad budged on replacing this system, in two weeks it will be replaced by a nice new 750MHz Duron based system with 128MB of PC133RAM, CD-RW, 17" screen, 40GB HDD... In 1 week I am going back to University, :(!

I am a bit miffed though that I will have the slowest computer after so long having the best PC in the house and what is worse is that the new one is 3x the power of my original system at 1/2 the cost (£777 vs £1643), :(!!! I shall get my revenge next year...

    Ha Ha... Mwwwaahhh

That looks like a really powerful machine, and I reckon in 12 years time it will be something of a legend.

I love seeing these old threads. Makes me wonder what the guy is doing now (if not one that is still around).

For example, now JADS presumably has a degree and is in his early to mid 30's. Did he keep this beast of a machine? Does he sometimes look at it wistfully and think of better days? When he wasn't a slave to the system?

    Ah, time..
