Just wondering what you guys think of this ram? I was going to get the Ballistix but as anybody will know, theya're craping out everywhere and really arent stable.

So wanna know what you guys think of these. I will be overclocking and would like tight timings.

They use infineon high yeild CE-6 and has timings of 3-3-2-8. And for anyone who knows all this is the same as the new OCZ PC4000 EB which are not available yet.

I have never used Mushkin before (always used corsair) so your thoughts are appreciated.

If you guys can reccomend any other ram that meet my needs then please feel free to say. I know hitman will tell everyone ive been doing his head in lately but to be honest the hardest thing ive had to pick is the memory. I dont know what to get. Im not getting ballistix though there is problems on forums everywhere with them. Especially with the Z503's and 2's and funny enough these are the ones OCuk has. (maybe thats why theya re cheaper there?)

dont have that exact kit, but i do have 1GB of muskin redline...

I have had absolutely no problem with it whatsoever and have managed to overclock it as far as I dare without active ram cooling and it's still got uber low latencys (270MHz @ 2-2-2-7 1T for anyone that cares). It performs v well and does exactly what it says on the tin and more!

As I said, I haven't had any probs with my RAM so never had to deal with Mushkin direct, although I remember reading a while back that they quite happily replaced peoples RAM when it was killed by the DFI NF4 SLi boards when using the 5v jumper - and seeing as this wasn't even their fault i think this was pretty good service!

Of course I'm sure ocz and corsair has just as good CS reps so you'll be fine with any of them - if they all use the same chips just get the one that is cheapest and available

The Redline uses the same chips as the 4000 EB from OCZ. The mushkin seems to clock a tad better than the OCZ though, its a pretty close call, and either way your getting some awsome ram.

    just ordered from newegg ;)

Corsair has a great RMA service, I was unfortunate enough to get 2 duff pairs in a row, the first pair and the replacement were sent straight from corsair so I guess the long haul shipping was a bit rough on them (both were DOA). They were replaced in a week each time, not too bad at all. The forums are good as well, although OCZ seem a bit more "active" amongst the enthusiast community (I know at least 3 members of XS are OCZ techs)

Just about to give OCZs RMA a go, I've got high hopes...

the only valid reasons for the OCZ over the mushkin are the OCZ is shinier (if thats a valid reason) and I'd be inclined to say the OCZ support is better, although ive not experienced the mushkin support, yet...

am I wrong in saying the Mushkin has been around longer the OCZ...if my memory serves me right, Mushkin ram has been the muts nuts for quite some time, but quite tricky to get hold of at times, esp. in the UK??
