I call BS. They've only managed to get it to 1.8Ghz under LN2.

Details of PoV's ultra charged and watercooled beast should be released later this week. Apparantly all 3rd party pre-overclocked 680's have to be approved by nvidia and I can't see them allowing that if it were even possible. Which it's not. :nono:

They may have missed the '1.' in front of the 2, so maybe a 1.2Ghz GTX 680, which would be more realistic, and a great OC if it were to be true.:)

Unlike some of the impetuous clowns here, I will not be rushing out and buying 2 x 680 2gb.

I intend to sit and wait for the 2ghz 8gb version.

I do believe he is somewhat taking the piss. :D:thumb:

I'd have to agree with others here, someone mis-typed or mis-heard or something about this card, as 2GHz just isn't going to be possible. 1.8GHz on LN2. Zotac would need a monster of a cooler for starters. Not to mention that at some point, the chip will no longer be stable, no matter how much voltage and cooling you throw at it. So yeah, 1.2GHz with turbo on sounds more realistic to me.

From what I heard they are cherry picked to hit 2ghz on ln2. Not 2ghz standard.

This seems the most logical explanation to me.

Gigabyte produced some excellent Super Overclocked cards using the cherry picking method and custom voltage design. I agree that the 2ghz is just nonsense especially from Zotac.

Some people seem to be getting 170mhz on air with their 680 which I would say is very promising for future versions.

I'm waiting for one with an ssd in it as I've heard they're pretty fast.

Nah the SSD version is for those with older systems that can't keep up. They ripped out the vRAM and 256bit memory bus and replaced it with the slower SSD and SATA controller as it's cheaper than using the expensive memory and stuff. :p

    OCZ vitality.

They left out one of the $ for the GK110.

There will be a budget version with 512mb and using system ram to make up the rest.

I find myself wincing at just how much those new cards will cost. Nvidia was bitching about GlobalFoundaries cost per transistor, so 6 billion of them will cost an outright damn fortune!

It is very possible... with the right cooler:

(that is 3 PCI slot thick, plus the added heatsink on top) :D

Even with that extravagant cooler, I doubt 2000MHz core clock would be possible. The extreme cold of LN2 helps stability at such high clocks.

My 680 watt peltier cooled by 2c cooled liquid might help.

And since I use pulse width modulation to vary the power to the TEC according to load, the system only hits 1.5kw when I play BF3 or crysis 2.
