    I have an evga P55 Cheesecake, a 9800gx2 and a 8800gt
    reading the below
    http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/evga_p55_ftw_review/page4.asp

"While the P55 Cheesecake ships with three PCI Express Graphics (PEG) slots, keep in mind that due to the limitations of the P55 chipset, the third (black) PEG slot is electrically limited to x4 operation. You won’t be able to run 3-Way SLI on this motherboard.

Instead you can use the third graphics card to drive additional displays, or if it’s a GeForce 8 series or better VGA, PhysX.
    "

so if I plug in both cards can I get 3 monitors when using windows normally and use 1 monitor + physx when gaming?

out of interest does anyone know what psu I'd need if I ran 2x9800gx2's sli and a 8800? I'm guessing that a 850 isnt going to cut it but thought I'd ask...

    Correct.

Depends what the rest of your system spec is, 850w may cut it.
You can use this calc as a rough guide to what you should expect.

interesting... if I filled it in right a 504 watt would be fine for sli on the 9800's plenty space for the 8800... might give it a go.
