3 pronged screwdriver? It's a bit hard to describe..... Does anyone know where I can get a phillips screwdriver that has 3 prongs for holding a screw. I used to have one, but it seems to have diappeared and now I can't even find one on the net / high street. Anyway if you don't know what I'm talking about then post below and I'll try to explain things a little more clearly. Thanks
theres a little tool that i used to have, with 3 prongs, and u push it like a pen and it extract 3 prongs, if this is what your talking about, its an electronics part to hold electronics while you solder them, like resistors, capacitors, and IC chips. this doesnt tell you what its called or where to get it but it may jog someone elses memory who reads the post
*realization dawns* Ahhh... I see what you mean. Would be usefull, (Magnetized screwdrivers aren't good inside a 'puter) but with the differing size of screw heads these days, not very practical, IMHO. Can't find any, sorrry.
i know what you mean.. its like a clip that holds the screw on the tip of the driver... check at sears maybe.. i never liked them anyway, the retainer thing always got in my way...\ -scoob8000
Exactly like that. But they are perfect for the screws that hold in you M'board and Cards. (The prongs grip round the head of the screw, to stop the screw falling on to the board) Sounds similar, just with a screwdriver in the middle of the prongs.
any ideas to get one in the UK? Or anyone fancy buying one for me, which I will pay them for? That is if you can find it.
Magnetic bits are the best thing since sliced bread. A bit of sticky tape round the screw head and driver tip is a poor runner-up for brass screws.
There also may be some goo you can get at the hardware store to make the screw stick to the bit. I can't remember the name though.
