I've been meaning to repair our small waste food bin which got blown over and broken during the winter since... well, winter! I spent about half an hour bodging this together today and thought I would share it with you Everything except the two M4 nuts and bolts was scraps or spares that I found lying around the workshop. This is what the original hinge looks like: And this is my version: It's sort of a "chewing gum & twine" repair, but it works!
That happened to our green bin. I called the council and the binmen fitted a new lid next bin day . Nice repair job though.
You couldn't get our council to change a street light bulb, never mind replace a broken bin! That being said, I never actually asked for a replacement. Oh well, I think the new hinge will hold up for a while longer I'm more a fan of black gaffer tape
