Gaming Dawn of War 3: EGX 2016 Hands-On

I still haven't played DoW 2 as when I try I end up playing DoW 1!

Can't wait for this though!

 

From the bits that I have seen of this so far, it all looks too clean and flashy. Too many visual effects and not enough grim dark.

Of course, I will play the hell out of it because...

But still.

 

It's pretty polished, but honestly, it plays like Dawn of War 1 but with hero units from Dawn of War 2. Would recommend.

 

Oh yeah, I'll definitely be playing it. It just looks a little too clean and shiny for what I'd like. I've pretty much grown up with Games Workshop stuff (been collecting and painting for around 27 years) and I'd love it to have a bit more of a dark aesthetic.

Of course, there may well be dirty underhive or city fighting maps for certain missions but we've not seen anything of that as yet.

 

If it's like the DoW2, no base building and large scale battles then i don't care. I loved the 1. with the expansions, played it a lot with friends but the 2... that was not a DoW in my eyes.

I'm hoping that EGX wasn't full placeholder and that things had been changed about..

 

The guy in that video wins my award for most annoying voice 2016... no... ever. Couldn't get past the bit where he started shouting. What a douche.
