Fitting a heatsink as standard might cause people problems, especially in boards where the M.2 slot is on the underside... Would be nice to see them ship with optional heatsinks, though.
Isn't it one of the submodels (like some special OEM model) of Toshiba XG3 ? http://www.thessdreview.com/our-reviews/ngff-m-2/toshiba-xg3-m-2-nvme-ssd-review-1tb/ http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/7676/toshiba-xg3-1tb-2-nvme-pcie-ssd-review/index5.html
Even with a flat one, like the MSI heat shield or whatever it is called, would be great. The controller needs a large surface area to dissipate the heat. Even then, it's still too large for some instances.
Whats the opinion of the Polaris stuff from Samsung? Seems very reasonable, is the MLC NAND frowned upon? Same controller, similar speeds.
I wonder if it's a re-branded version of the OCZ drive https://www.scan.co.uk/products/1tb...b-s-read-1550mb-s-write-210k-130k-iops-retail
Bang! Amazing work dude. I hunted high and low to find anything on it. Those specs correlate perfect with the speeds I am seeing.
