Hey all, I'm just wondering if I can use a 32 Bit W7 Professional Upgrade key on a 64Bit W7 Professional Upgrade install? I derped when buying; misclicked and didn't see that I got the 32 bit over the 64 bit :wallbash:

I've already got a 64 Bit upgrade disc I used for my desktop; just wondering if I need to contact the website (Tried ringing but it's a Sunday )

Dont think you can use a 32bit key for a 64bit disk.

Not 100% sure but I know the OEM keys on the COA attached to devices at work will install both the 32 and 64bit version - don't know if this is generic along all keys tho.

Cheers lads, checked with the Microsoft activation support peoples and they said it'd be fine as long as I ring support to get it activated. :D

    It will work fine. Tested

First of all, The Upgrade license of Windows 7 comes with 2 disk. 32 and 64-bit disk, like the Retail license (and follows the same license, other than the fact that you need a previous version of Windows that you don't use anymore)

This also works for OEM licenses as well. The license key doesn't have anything to identify: Language nor version (32/64-bit). Only the edition is identified.

Thanks, I was just like D: and wanted to make sure, 'tis a hard life being a poor(ish) student and didn't fancy buying another licence after shelling out £160 on textbooks. :D
