Not sure if you guys have already heard, but some users have reported problems with the new 320.18 Geforce drivers, a few cases of dead GPUs, but lots more of BSODs etc etc

    Timeline over at Modcrash

I've been running the 320.18 beta driver for a while now with no issues, so it looks like its the WHQL release that is borked.

That said, they are still on the Nvidia site, so maybe hyperbole.

Hmmm - I believe I installed them the other day but (possibly) fortunately haven't actually run any games / other 3D applications... Might have a sneaky roll-back later before giving anything a whirl on my new installation...

    +rep for the heads-up mate

Yep. Had these exact problems in BF3 and Metro: Last Light. More BF3 than anything else. Other games will just minimise to desktop randomly but are fine once restored.

I found it's linked to things like popups or browser pages refreshing in the background while playing BF3.

Examples. If Origin popup tells me someone has just started playing a game then my BF3 is screwed. If I leave the battlelog browser window open behind BF3 when it refreshes BF3 is screwed.

I've disabled popups and always minimise my battlelog browser window while the game launches. This seems to work so far. Hope they fix it soon as it's a right pain in the bottom!

I keep going back to 306 since any newer drivers give me horrid flashing textures in dx8 in tf2 :(

Just as well I guess :p

I agree, had some problems streaming video from twitch.tv while gaming and rolling back sorted it out.

I installed the 320.18 drivers on 05/26 and haven't noticed any problems. I'm running dual 550's in SLI (see sig). I've mostly been playing Skyrim, but I did get BF3 installed the other day. What little chance I've had to play BF3 thus far, I haven't had any graphics related issues, just noob gameplay issues.

I haven't seen any abnormal temp or otherwise weird readings in MSI Afterburner either since going live with those drivers.

I did have some issues in Tomb Raider with large triangles appearing. Didn't think it could be the driver, but have removed it and gone back to one that's at least safe.

Palit's RMA is pretty much non existent so the last thing I want to do is have to send my cards back.

How are people rolling back? I might do it just to be on the safe side.

Just download an older one of your choice and select "Perform a clean install"
