320 Gb Western Digital WD3200SD Caviar RE IS THIS RAID ONLY?

    You can use it on its own.

    All drives can be used in a RAID or not in a RAID, basicly.

    its raid eddition, it means its made better so has a longer Mean time before failing etc and i think it has a longer garantee

    I use a 320gig RE drive on its own. It's only SATA1 but it's guaranteed to last longer (larger MTBF).

    It also has TLER enabled, which isn't ideal in a single drive situation when you don't have a RAID controller to cope with drive errors (ie, it can lead to data loss)
    WD don't reccommend you use RE drives outside an array anyway.

    Especially since you're probably paying more for those two letters anyway (and the 4 that spell MTBF).

    your jokin! haha well it arivies like 10hours haha 3am post:D
    well i aint paid anymore for it than my sd i did want the sd but cant find it unless its 30quid more than i paid for mine:S think it was in the sale when i got it meh not bothered it should be fine.
