    £320?!

That's even more bollox than the price of a 1080Ti, frankly. I just sold an XFX GTR 480 for £175, and I only paid £200 for it originally new (on offer, admittedly)... Who the hell is going to spend 2nd hand GTX1070 prices on a card that makes Kabylake look like a good upgrade from Skylake??

I'd like to see one of the more sensibly-priced variants being reviewed, because at £320 this is just silly really. Either go for a cheaper 580 and save some cash, or find another £50 and get a 1070, surely? I agree with the last line of the review - this is a £250 card, not a £320 one.

MSI's GTX 1070 Armor has been on sale for £335 for ages now - so this at £320 is a joke. As Anfield points out above too - £100 more expensive than the almost identical 480 it replaces!

Anything around £300 is lol levels of money. The 480 they compare it too is available below £220. And I have saw that less on deals of the day.

What was the point of this cards launch and where is Vega.

We did not need a £300 filler that offers no benefit. Is this a warning sign that we will not see a sub £500 Vega.

Hell you can get a 1060 6Gb for less than £215, the 580 money is just silly.

I don't think this is much of an indication regarding Vega pricing, I just think it's ASus taking the piss a bit with the premium for their custom cooling solution. I'm sure there will be plenty of more affordable AIB 580s, it's just a shame that the first 580 reviewed here is so ludicrously expensive.

    Powercolor one for £239.99

So yes, there are cheaper ones, but the thing is that the whole strategy of taking the piss with the premium on the custom cooling is moronic this far down in the market.

People who buy low end - mid range cards are very likely to be value conscious, this isn't like the bleeding edge of the pinnacle of engineering where another £100+ is much less of a problem.

I was waiting until these came out to make my mind up on a new GPU. I think after the results I'll get an Evga GTX 1060 SC GAMING 6GB for £215.

    I've got nothing.

Can we merge this with the demote thread?

Great to see us punters railing against these crappy releases and psstake prices.
Been going on for too long, just getting taken for granted.

Pretty sure, IIRC, there was an Asus 1070 for £299 on HUKD from amazon fr the other day too! IMO the 480 prices were around what they should have been #~£200, this has just conveniently reset the prices and stores have decided to do a new round of gouging because it's new. Pretty s*** tbh.

Yup going to stretch my Fury X and Titan XM until they're as thin as a wire.

What do you do when your products are too expensive? I know! Let's make them even more unaffordable!

    That'll work !

Again with the graph inconsistencies in this review too.

Who's proof reading these? Stevie Wonder???
