I can't help thinking the tri-fan cooler is a bit over the top on a GTX 1060.

I have a Zotac 1060 6gb, but the BIG advantage of the RX 580 isn't anything to do with the raw frame rates, it's all to do with Freesync. A freesync monitor is heaps cheaper than a g-sync monitor and that brings heaps of benefits for gaming. Although the card itself performs great, I kind of wish I had bought the RX 580 myself instead of the 1060.

Is it just me or are the Doom charts missing?

1060's are basically 980's but with an extra 2GB of Vram, so it's definitely not worth retiring your 970 for a 1060.

Personally speaking, the minimum upgrade from a 970 you should consider is a 1070, which is equal to the old 980Ti.

Sorry - should've deleted the Doom page, it's gone now. Hoping to get it working when we get some more interesting GPU hardware back in.

1070 is at worse £70 more expensive for 30% minimum faster card.

Asus cards are just so expensive for what they offer.

Asus Strix and Gigabyte Auros are basically super expensive versions of cards that can be had for alot less
