    Messy, lazily put together system.
And a non-modular PSU in a machine costing 1K..come on.

Been a while since I was last here, but I seem to see a lot more "Recommended" awards going out than there used to be. Anyone else noticed this?

I agree. It's messy! They didn't even bother to route the SATA cable through the cutout literally just beneath the ports. The cable management is horrid and the component choice is... eh, could be worse.

It would be nice to see at least an 80+ bronze in there for the money, and faster memory as it is such a small increase in cost for the extra speed. It doesn't help much, sure, but being bottom specced speeds sucks too.

However, to the credit of the rig, at least it has a 256GB SSD installed.

I must admit, I did try putting similar hardware together on PC part picker and did have a hard time keeping it below 1k quid.
    6 core Coffee Lake, Z370, 16GB RAM, 256GB NVMe, 1060, etc etc

That's no excuse for the poor work though, and I usually find PC Specialists work good (I got my laptop from them).
