How do Chrome flaws effect the Chromium Embedded Framework? Hell would freeze over before i used Chrome the internet browser but with some developers like Valve deciding to use CEF it seems near on impossible to avoid using it.

CEF-toting apps will need to be updated too iirc, iirc steam lags behind CEF releases a bit so you might be wating a while.

That makes it even more annoying, it's bad enough having over a GB's worth of memory spread out between 6 different "steamwebhelper.exe" but knowing they're vulnerable and developed by a company who doesn't give a fig about privacy makes it all the worse.

In theory, though, the problem is reduced when it comes to CEF apps: Steam, for example, doesn't load random HTML stuff from third-party sites and doesn't let you log into Facebook with it either, so it can't easily be exploited to figure out who you are from your Facebook details like Chrome proper can.

yes it does, or did, via the in-game overlay.

whether anyone is daft enough to log into bookface via steam's in-game browser is another matter.

EDIT: security concerns like this is why CCP removed the in-game browser from EVE, it was quicker just to bin it than fix it/keep it secure.
