Some wierd ass DAT Backup device that uses the floppy cable, but needs a FDD to be on the 'A' plug after the twist?
it's a fast growing 200post thread... another try, Car PC kit. software in floppy for car's own computer hook up with PC.
Some sort of SmartCard/CompactFlash/SecureDigital adaptor for the floppy drive. But it really shouldn't cost that much. Maybe it's with a digicam??
some sort of flash media reader that uses a modified floppy as the interface... sort of the pmcia piggyback method for flash card reading? or maybe one of those iomega click disk things? the 40mb mini zips? i think those need a flopyy drive to interface with...

well... whats red & white (black?) bigger than a hd, bigger than a cup of tea, smaller than cheese, has to have a floppy drive to function right, and costs £150-£600? also would lead to death what other clues we looking at.... cheese didn't think it needed a floppy, its a piece of hardware (guessing ) it's something we've all heard of, it's something thats wearable (otherwise alarics comment makes no sense) its a 'part' which means its not likely to be something we would have thought of as a typical pc part(again guessing)... got me... but wtf are you wearing cheese? polarised sunglasses?
Some type of iMac, maybe the new one with the long neck? To add to your alternative technologys reviews. It doesn't come with a floppy drive so maybe you needed to buy one extra.

A really huge red and white LCD screen of some kind which looks kinda blackish.... floppy needed for transfer of main setup files to the controller and the LCD controller has an onboard floppy controller for this thing... GOT IT maybe... a big fat ass UPS made by APC (colour of logo:red) the casing is white, and it is valuable in many ways in case of death to the power source.... it's late now... bedderoooos
