    Good summary and I do agree that in the low-ish to mid-end there's hardly any point going with Intel right now. Feeding the top-end graphics cards might be different, given the edge the 9700k seems to have in many titles over the 2700x. But it's not like you're feeling your performance with the latter.

    On my last upgrade I switched camps from my aging 1366 Xeon setup and went with a 2600X on an MSI B450 Tomahawk simply because everything that I was reading about cost:performance was making it an easy choice. It really doesn't surprise me to see these figures for the 2600, it just hit that right spot on cost to performance and, for most people, spending the chunk extra wasn't really going to be worth it.
