This marks the 2nd time the warranty has been extended; except now it is covered for 3 years and yet they continue to dodge questions regarding the failure rates. Wow...just wow.

That's a bloody good deal imho - alright they die, but at least MS repairs them for absolutely nothing, and they're paying out to people who've already had them repaired! Bloody good PR exercise for them, it's a good idea which will probably win them favour, regardless of selling a bad console...

It's a good thing for Microsoft to do, but tbh this problem shouldn't still exist 17 months down the line. And it shouldn't have taken them this long to start doing something about it.

it shouldn't be happening with the newer consoles now that they have epoxied the chips and included the extra heat sinks... BUT 3 years is better than anyone else on the market, and so im willing to take my chances.

Honestly i think that they should just include a Koolance Water cooling that was specially made for the 360 with every console. No overheating problems there.

My 360 bricked itself on Sunday afternoon, taking it back to Game to get a replacement at some point this week.

When/If it dies goto xbox.com and get the phone number, phone them up and they'll ask you a couple of questions about what is happening.

Should be automatically covered for 3 years, but this is RRoD only, any other problems after the first year and should have to pay.
