    I've not read through the entire court judgment PDF yet but from what i can make out the judges have not ruled on how effective the safeguards are, or even if they're being followed, they've just ruled that there are sufficient safeguards.

    In other words if MI5 didn't lie in order to obtain some warrants, everyone followed the letter of the law instead of just leaving peoples data laying around all over the place and actually treated our personal data with the respect it deserves then it wouldn't breach our human rights and would respect our privacy.
