    "Dutch DPA confirmed that while Microsoft has abided by changes the regulator had requested last year it is continuing to collect swathes of data from other users - leaving it, the regulator claims, 'still potentially in breach of privacy rules.'"

    In short... "You did everything we asked you to do, so you're in big trouble now!" Did MS marry the DPA?

    It's a little more like "thank you for emptying that holdall you were carrying of stolen gold bullion, but we've been informed that it might be a good idea for us to take a look at your rucksack as well..."

    (I mean, not really, because it's more like "thank you for saying you'll stop putting more stolen gold bullion in your holdall," but you get the gist.)
