    super interesting that the effectiveness AND power consumption can both be refined in one big hit. Even if it takes extra hardware, the medium term gain would be immense

    Paper is paywalled, but another potential gotcha would be if it requires software to be written to be aware of the new functional block in order to take advantage of it.

    Or, just make the die bigger and etch more L1 cache, and L2 cache. L3 cache is like saying main memory is so slow that we need an intermediate place to store stuff that actually may be in main memory.

    Would this benefit gaming or just specialised co-processor computing?
