Am I the only one sick of all this proprietary crap? I have Gigabyte, MSI and Corsair hardware in my machine, and I need three separate lumps of code to control their lighty-up bits. Bah, i'm not bothering with RGB again if this mess continues.

I've been exasperated by this for ages. There's no reason aside from corporate branding to NOT have a standard interface and protocol for lighting control. USB illumination device class or something.

Id love them to come up with one standard, as I went with Corsair for my mouse and keyboard as I already had their LL fans, and wanted the colours to match.

...which is exactly why there isn't one standard and instead just dozens of "ecosystems" to buy into.
