What are you going to be doing with this? I'd choose 2*24" generally, but it depends on the situation.

    Budget?

Looks very nice but i would like 2 monitors for the price of that or the extra space of a 37" tv

you can't get a good sub £200 24" monitor but you can get 2 good 22" monitors for £400

With that monitor, you get the picture you pay the premium for. I would go for that HP monitor if I had the budget, personally.

And would the HP be better than a 37" HDTV?

Personally I'd go for one nice 24" screen with a passable 32" TV.

a 37" tv won't really give you extra "space", because it has the same resolution as a single 24" monitor. everything will just take up more space.

As I already explained (to others) you can't compare a TV to a PC monitor.

The dots on a TV are too big for you to use it for a monitor, you'd get a headache. :eeek: :eeek: your eyes would hurt :waah: :waah: :waah:

and the experience would not be uplifting.

you can visit www.tftcentral.co.uk for a deep view on the subject :D

exactly, a 24" Monitor will walk all over a 37" TV resolution wise, you'll just get a bigger picture but picture quality will go down, I'd go for the 2 x 24" personally, TV screens aren't normally used on computers for a reason

Ultimately, it depends entirely on how far you will be sitting from the screen. TVs are designed for sitting further away like on a sofa in the living room. PC monitors are designed to sit on a desk only a few feet in from of the user, hence they are usually smaller.

As said above, if you're only going to have the TV a few feet in front of you then you're going to get a headache, and it won't be a pleasant experience.

You'll probably have to up your budget if you want 2 24" monitors, but the Samsung T240 is quite well recommended and two of those should only set you back about £450.

It depends. If you're not that fussy about image quality then probably not, but if you're going to be doing colour critical work like photo editing, then absolutely.

I own the HP in question.
Compared to the classical TN-panel I had before it's another world. And it's huge, you don't need two of them.

Visit the site I have given you before, there are a lot of comparative photo-shots and you'll see the difference rigt away.

The PC you're using to talk with us...well, could you not use it's graphic for the next month?

and now gentleman, pray excuse me, i must climb in my bath tube. :D

Yer 24" dual screen is major overkill, 22" is the maximum and even that is a stretch, imho non widescreen LCDs look better in dual setup than widescreen ones...
