are the 3700amd soc 939 sandiegos rated to run with memory with 1T command rate? reason being is that i am after 2x1gb of corsair 3500LL pro series which come with plug n play technology, ie they boot up with 2-3-2-6 1T command rate, and i was wondering if my processor is up to it ?

    No probs with 2 sticks.

BTW, is "plug and play" on the RAM a marketing point for Corsair? Because they're running out of ideas if it is... all RAM has to have an SPD now.

yer, cause i was thinking of getting the crucial ballistix 2x1gb , they should be able to do cl2 2-2-2-5 maybe ? with 1T at around 2.9v ?

i just dont want to overclock much at all i want speed and stability, which is why i was looking into those pair of corsiar, although the heat spreaders arnt exaclty small ....

My 2x512mb set of Ballistix did 2-2-2-5 with no problems at stock volts.
Not sure if you'd need to wack 2.9v into them for it, even if they are 2x1gb.

It depends on the mobo and BIOS as much though.

youll not get 2-2-2-5 from the 1Gb modules. Best I could ever get was 2.5-2-2-5 at DDR400... that was with 2.8V. Upping the vDIMM gave no improvement. The 512s can, and indeed do 2-2-2-5. Still.. 1Gb modules that are 2.5-2-2-5 at 400 and 3-3-3-8 at 600 seem like a good investment to me. The differences between 2.5 and 2 CAS are small.. it's the second figure... the RAS to CAS delay that gives the biggest boost.

I was only stating what mine had done to compare :)
Yeah I know theres not much between 2-2-2-5, and 2.5-2-2-5 :)

The 512MB modules use Micron 5B-G chips, which are rated 2-2-2-6 @ 200Mhz. The 1GB modules use Micron 5B-D chips, rated 2.5-3-3-7 @ 200Mhz (IIRC). Of course, they can both run tighter/higher than rated, but those are the official specs :)
