    So, after the pointless rebranding exercise of obfuscating actual WiFi functional capability by replacing a designator of a letter on the end of an arbitrary number with just an arbitrary number, the WFA have decided to.... put a letter on the end of an arbitrary number. Outstanding.

    Especially funny when you consider that there is no law forcing shops to use the up to date wifi standard naming scheme, so consumers see all naming schemes being used concurrently.

    Most places haven't bothered to update the name, so you'll still see Wi-Fi 5 stuff being sold as 802.11ac.
