    That's bloody impressive.

Half the price of the 9600K and only a few percentage points behind in games?

    Ouch.

It's funny how many 7700k are on Ebay today. It's even funnier people bidding them over £200. I mean sure, it's still up to 10% faster but it will make no difference.

Don't forget that the Intel i3 series includes an iGPU for the same price, making them much cheaper for non gaming uses.

The Ryzen xxxxG series still exists though in same price segment which has much better iGPU than Intels offerings and more threads.

Can't be long before a Zen 2 variant of it drops.

They really drag their feet on lower end stuff now. Look how long this has taken to come out. Probably see the big ones long before the smaller ones.

As a reader of this site who is a bit "I come here to pretend I know what I'm on about", AMD really seem to have nailed the CPU market of late. Kept it simple on socket, loads of bang for buck and a bit of #loadzathreadz technology marketing. This seems a great chip for the price point but the 3300x seems the choice for a few pints more unless I'm missing something.

3300X hugely impressive. I cant think of a reason to even buy an Intel CPU these days for what i would need one for. I run a R3 1200 for 2 years @ 4Ghz for use in the front room / TV gaming PC and i thought that was an impressive little chip given the cost etc. This is on another level.

You will have a launch day comparison between these two chips and their Intel 14nm++(+?) counterparts, I hope?

Given the new pricing structure for Intel CPUs, especially their -F parts, this could be rather interesting.

Once B550 is available I can see the 3300X becoming a best seller.

I wonder if we'll see a dual core Athlon branded Zen 2 CPU? (To replace the Athlon 300u.)

I think AMD are done with dual core, but maybe a sub-50$ chip?
